Santa Barbara Wineries - Sideways Movie
The 2004 hit movie Sideways was filmed in and around Santa Barbara area wineries. The movie about two middle-aged men trying to find their identities while taking a week long trip through Santa Barbara County wineries.
This film brought a lot of attention to the region, especially for the Pinot Noir wines which are specifically mentioned in the movie several times. It was known well before Sideways that Pinot Noir and many other grape varietels grow very well in Santa Barbara County vineyards. However, since the movie was released California's central coast wines have become increasingly popular, specifically Pinot Noir.
